 Wurstfest in New Braunfels (Nov. 6–15)

Wurstfest runs Nov. 6–15 at the Wurstfest Grounds in Landa Park. Expect German-Texan food, beer, polka and plenty of people-watching. Share a sausage plate, take a spin on the dance floor, then head back to the cottage. Weekday evenings are usually more relaxed than weekends.

 Live Music at Gruene Hall

Gruene is a short drive away and perfect for a date night. James McMurtry plays Gruene Hall on Friday, Nov. 6, and Tab Benoit and Jesse Dayton play there on Friday, Nov. 20. Have dinner in the historic district first, then catch the show.

 Wine, Dine & Jazz at Horseshoe Bay (Saturday, Nov. 7)

This daytime festival runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes celebrity chef demonstrations, a wine and food stroll, and live jazz on the lawn. It’s a longer drive from Canyon Lake, so make it a full day trip and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Holiday Season Kicks Off

– Nov. 7: New Braunfels hosts its Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon.
– Nov. 20: Downtown New Braunfels hosts its Downtown Lighting and Santa’s Arrival from 6 to 9 p.m.
– Nov. 21–22: Old Gruene Market Days fall on the third full weekend of the month, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wander through nearly 100 vendors with free admission, then stay for a glass of wine in the historic district.
– Nov. 27–28: Dickens on Main in Boerne’s Hill Country Mile brings snow, Santa, entertainment and a vintage Christmas feel to Thanksgiving weekend.
